  22. I had the same problem last week with the same modem, except mine would connect 
  23. then disconnect almost immediately to my ISP.  Know what I did?  I returned the 
  24. modem to the store and got a replacement.  This new one works perfectly!

  26. You may want to try doing the same.  Could be a bad chip, which is supposedly 
  27. rare.  I had two bad USR 28.8/33.6 Externals before I got one that worked.  I 
  28. guess third time's a charm.  -Chance W.
